Safe.
Known.
Loved.

We want every child to feel known, loved, and safe and that they would experience the joy that comes from knowing Jesus. As we pour into this next generation, our prayer is that they will grow up to use their gifts and talents to point others to Christ.

In all services on Sunday, August 11, kids are encouraged to bring their backpacks to church for a special blessing and prayer for the new school year. We are also collecting supplies for one of our partner schools, Cornerstone Prep in Binghampton!

You can shop the list on Amazon or buy supplies yourself and bring them to church to the designated drop-off points found throughout our lobbies!

Ways To Serve

  • Engage In-Person
From attending athletic competitions and football camp to enjoying plays, concerts, and the student film festival, you can show your love by cheering students on. If you are interested in East football contact brianm@christchurchmemphis.org and if you are interested in engaging in other aspects reach out to Janice Keene at pinetreegal57@yahoo.com

    Provide Refreshments
Food is often the foundation of relationship building! Help provide sports drinks, water, and snacks for sporting events, or refreshments for other after-school activities. Drop off at the front desk.

    Sponsor a Pre-Game Meal
We feed the football team prior to games and someone gives a team devotion. With 55 players on the team, we estimate $8 will feed one player! Click here and select the Mission Fund with the note "East High" in the honorarium box.

  • ARISE2Read
ARISE2Read takes an active role in the development of children in our public schools through the presence of volunteers focused on literacy. Volunteers are needed to tutor students one hour per week utilizing a simple sight word approach. Dates to volunteer are currently TBD. If you are interested in signing up to tutor or have questions email Courtney Merman.

    Adopt a Class
Class sponsors serve a specific classroom (Pre-K–5th grade) all year. These volunteers communicate directly with the teacher to find out specific needs and help fill those needs as they arise. This could range from praying and sending encouragement, helping celebrate birthdays, reading to the class, and preparing supplies. Contact Stephanie Powell for more info.

    Copy Making & Office Aid
This is a huge help! Making copies frees up teachers to use time for lesson planning and classroom preparation. Volunteers are also needed to serve in the office with filing, laminating, and distributing materials to teachers. Volunteers select a time during the day that fits their schedule.

Contact Stephanie Powell for more info.

Baptism

the sacrament of baptism is open to persons of all age, including infants. Parents and family members speak on the child’s behalf and at the same time confirm their faith in Christ. Parents attend Baptism Exploration prior to their child’s baptism where they meet with ministers to review the meaning and importance of this time.
